Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Designer to join the Vessel Engineering team. The primary purpose of this role is to design and detail ASME Code pressure vessels and systems. The ideal candidate will be a technical expert who provides critical support to sales, production, and quality control, ensuring designs meet all required standards and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, detail, and check all drawings for ASME code pressure vessels, systems, and aftermarket parts.
- Utilize SolidWorks to create production-quality technical drawings and documentation.
- Interpret customer specifications, drawings, and job orders to create accurate designs.
- Coordinate with the sales team on vessel design and drawing release to meet production schedules.
- Understand and apply materials and construction rules for ASME Code pressure vessels.
- Understand welding, NDE (Non-Destructive Examination), and testing processes relevant to pressure vessels.
- Create and assemble Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals and final documentation packages.
- Input items and parts to build out accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Provide technical support to customer service, production, quality control, and inter-company engineering teams.
- Analyze and resolve technical problems related to product design and manufacturing.
Required Education and Experience:
- 10 years of related experience in the design and drafting of ASME code pressure vessels.
- 5 years of professional experience with SolidWorks is mandatory.
- An Associate's degree in Mechanical Design/Drafting, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience with EI (Energy Institute) Qualification requirements is a strong plus, but not required.
Required Skills and Certifications:
- Proficiency with SolidWorks is mandatory.
- SolidWorks Professional Certification is strongly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of ASME pressure vessel codes and standards.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including welding, NDE, and assembly.
- Excellent technical communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
