Estimator – Architectural Millwork
Mid-Atlantic Region
The Opportunity
You will lead the development of detailed, defensible estimates for sophisticated, design-driven millwork projects, Your work will directly influence which projects are pursued, how they are priced, and how successfully they are delivered. This role requires more than takeoffs. It calls for judgement, commercial awareness, and the ability to align estimating strategy with production realities.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze architectural drawings, specifications, and bid documents to produce thorough and precise cost estimates
- Evaluate constructability, sequencing, and production considerations to ensure estimates reflect real execution conditions
- Partner closely with operations and senior leadership to align bids with shop capacity, procurement strategy, and scheduling constraints
- Develop pricing that balances competitiveness with disciplined margin protection
- Solicit and level vendor and subcontractor pricing where applicable
- Identify risk factors, scope gaps, and cost drivers early in the bid process
- Prepare clear, well-documented proposals suitable for both internal review and client submission
- Support transition from estimating to operations by communicating scope, assumptions, and financial structure of awarded work
