What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full Stack Software Engineer position at The Landline Company?
About The Landline Company
Landline is building infrastructure that lets passengers clear security and check in for their flight closer to home — before they ever reach the airport. We provide seamless ground connectivity on behalf of American Airlines, Air Canada, and other major carriers — integrating booking, secure transport, and baggage handling into a single ticket across a growing North American network.
Backed by top-tier venture investors and partners like CLEAR, we've spent five years making the travel day seamless for millions of passengers. Now we're building the next piece: secure remote checkpoints that let travelers clear security and check in in the city.
Job Summary
As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will drive development of our core platform, from passenger-facing booking applications to secure backend systems driving our operations. You will collaborate with product, operations, and airline partners to build reliable, scalable features handling high-volume bookings and real-time updates supporting a complex 24/7 operation.
This is a hands-on role with end-to-end ownership in a lean, high-output team. You will work directly with the people making product and operational decisions, ship frequently, and own what you build.
What we are looking for
- Python/Django backend, production-grade — you have built and maintained services in production, not just contributed to them
- GCP and Kubernetes ownership experience — infrastructure is part of your work, not someone else's problem
- React frontend capability — comfortable owning a full feature from API to UI
- Strong instincts around reliability, data integrity, and system design in environments where failures have real downstream consequences
- Travel startup or fintech background a plus — familiarity with reservation systems, payment flows, or regulated data environments will accelerate your ramp significantly
Why Join
Impact – Groundfloor participation in the development of Landline's newest product
Culture – A small, ambitious team that values speed, creativity, autonomy, and bias for action

Flexible work environment with remote options
Competitive salary ($110,000 - $130,000)
