What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Inventory Manager position at THE KENAN ADVANTAGE GROUP?
Position Summary
This position is responsible for maintaining a proper inventory of parts.
Essential Functions
- Order stock and non stock parts that are needed to repair tractors and trailers
- Keep accurate inventory of parts and supplies for shop and tank wash
- Controls inventory needed for forecasted needs
- Check in part orders, tag, and stock parts
- Send and receive shipments, unload semi deliveries, route and process office paper work
- Order replacement parts and new install kits
- Purchase, stock, and perform daily tire inventory
- Keep on hand The Federal Highway Association (FHWA) inspection forms, decals, tank test decals, tank test date numbers.
- Assists lead tech with review and completion of standard and vendor repair orders (stand in if lead tech is off)
- Order and bill for parts to vendor repair facilities
- Ensure accurate pricing and invoicing of orders
- Keep SDS information current and accurate to match on hand products
- Assist in transporting equipment to vendors for repair
- Assists in building and yard maintenance by either performing needed repairs or coordinates outside vendors
- Negotiates pricing with outside vendors
- Monitors and processes warranty recoverable items
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Working knowledge of class 8 tractors and trailers
- Ability to read and interpret technical data and information
