Position overview
The inventory control clerk is responsible for maintaining records of equipment parts inventory and on order. Monitors reorder points and initiates action to replenish stock. Recognizes discrepancies in inventories and notifies supervisor of irregularities. Receiving, unpacking, and delivering items to shelves or requesting departments. Performs routine clerical duties to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.
Position responsibilities/accountabilities:
- Ordering inventory from vendors and suppliers and securing shipment arrival times
- Managing inventory by stocking and cataloging products for a business
- Updating inventory count and maintaining inventory records to share with management and other stakeholders in the business
- Reporting discrepancies in inventory that indicate theft, such as too little inventory at last count
- Implementing loss prevention programs to prevent theft
- Obtaining estimates and price details from different vendors to compare costs
- Researching the accuracy of product details
- Working with a maintenance system (ex. MaintainX)
Physical Demands
§ Exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and up to 50-100 lbs. of force rarely, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
§ The employee must be able to walk around the plant frequently.
Work environment
§ The noise level in the work environment is moderate to high
§ Hot, cold and wet environmental conditions
§ Ability to work carefully around food processing, baking and tumblers/mixing machines including conveyor belts, fans, ovens.
§ Hazard: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
Qualifications/abilities
· High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
· Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
· Ability to coordinate stock counts to report data.
· Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
· Database management skills.
· Ability to analyze and solve problems.
· Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
· Ability to receive, stock, and/or deliver goods.
· Clerical, word processing, and/or office skills.
· Good communication skills
· Flexibility to work various hours and shifts
Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
