Position Overview
We are seeking a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to support students who are deaf or hard of hearing in achieving academic, communication, and social-emotional success. What You'll Do
- Provide specialized instruction and educational services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across a variety of educational settings.
- Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that address students' unique communication, language, academic, and access needs.
- Partner with students, families, educators, administrators, interpreters, audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and other service providers to support student success.
- Assess student progress and use data to inform instructional planning and educational programming.
- Ensure students receive a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) through compliant and effective service delivery.
- Utilize assistive listening devices, amplification systems, and other specialized technologies to support communication access and learning.
- Prepare and maintain accurate educational records, progress reports, IEP documentation, meeting notices, prior written notices, and other required documentation.
- Complete service documentation and billing requirements in accordance with district policies and applicable regulations.
- Apply current research, best practices, and emerging trends in deaf education to instructional planning and decision-making.
- Provide guidance, training, and supervision to assigned staff, which may include paraprofessionals, interpreters, new teachers, or other support personnel.
- Communicate effectively and professionally through spoken, written, and/or signed modalities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support student outcomes and district initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Valid teaching license with endorsement in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education, or eligibility to obtain appropriate licensure.
- Knowledge of auditory development, language acquisition, and communication approaches, including spoken language, sign language, total communication, and bilingual-bicultural models.
- Experience using assistive listening technologies, amplification systems, and other instructional and accessibility tools for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and/or signed communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, families, educators, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Knowledge of federal and state special education regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience collaborating with audiologists, interpreters, speech-language pathologists, and general education staff.
- Demonstrated ability to use data and evidence-based practices to improve student outcomes.

Salary : $45 - $52
