Position Summary
Seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor to lead factory-based laser repair operations. This role is responsible for supervising a team of technicians, overseeing repair center activities, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will combine technical expertise, operational leadership, and customer-focused problem solving to support the repair and maintenance of advanced laser systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of repair technicians to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality repair operations.
- Monitor team performance metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and implement corrective actions to achieve operational goals.
- Foster a customer-focused culture that emphasizes responsiveness, accuracy, quality, and accountability.
- Manage daily repair center operations, including product diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair activities, and workflow prioritization.
- Oversee spare parts inventory and ensure the availability of materials needed to support repair activities.
- Collaborate with engineers and technical specialists to resolve complex product issues and develop effective repair solutions.
- Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure repaired products meet quality standards and customer requirements.
- Serve as a primary technical resource for assigned laser products, providing guidance to customers, technicians, and internal stakeholders.
- Communicate directly with customers regarding repair status, technical issues, and service escalations.
- Maintain and support technical documentation, troubleshooting procedures, and knowledge-sharing resources.
- Coordinate service-related activities, including warranty claim processing, product replacements, and service contract administration.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and applicable industry regulations.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product Development, Manufacturing, and Quality, to identify recurring product issues and improve product reliability.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, cost reduction, quality enhancement, and customer satisfaction.
- Associate degree, technical certification, technical diploma, or equivalent technical training and experience.
- 3–5 years of experience supporting lasers, photonics systems, or other complex capital equipment in a service, repair, manufacturing, or technical support environment.
- Experience leading teams, projects, or technical operations in a manufacturing, service, or repair setting.
- Proven experience in customer support, technical support, service operations, or repair management within a product-based industry.
- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of engineering principles, product design concepts, and root-cause analysis methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership skills with a commitment to employee development, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze trends, measure performance, and implement process improvements.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
