Position Summary
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support foundry operations through the planning, coordination, and execution of manufacturing engineering projects. This role partners closely with production teams, engineers, supervisors, and operators to improve processes, support production goals, and drive operational excellence. The position is primarily shop floor based and requires frequent interaction with manufacturing personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute manufacturing engineering projects in a foundry environment.
- Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve manufacturing challenges.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
- Analyze manufacturing processes and implement solutions to improve efficiency and performance.
- Provide technical support to production personnel and assist with troubleshooting process issues.
- Spend approximately 75% of the workday on the manufacturing floor supporting operations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in foundry engineering, manufacturing engineering, or process engineering.
- Strong project coordination and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with manufacturing line layout, process design, or process improvement.
- Familiarity with ERP and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Experience using CAD software such as Creo, AutoCAD, or similar design tools.
- Knowledge of controls engineering, automation, or industrial safety systems.
- Experience with industrial robotics programming and troubleshooting, particularly FANUC robots, is highly preferred.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or a related technical field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
Work Environment
- Fully onsite position in a manufacturing facility.
- Approximately 75% of time spent on the production floor.
- Must be comfortable working in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds as required.
- Appropriate safety footwear is required.
