Maintenance LeadPosition Summary
The Maintenance Lead is a hands-on leader responsible for maintaining safe and reliable equipment operation while leading a team of four mechanics. This role combines daily maintenance work with team coordination, preventive maintenance scheduling, parts procurement, and communication with operations and external service providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the daily activities of four maintenance mechanics.
- Perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
- Manage and execute the preventive maintenance (PM) schedule.
- Prioritize maintenance work to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
- Order parts, tools, and maintenance supplies while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and outside service partners to support maintenance activities.
- Work closely with operations to schedule repairs and communicate equipment status.
- Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and safety documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
- 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Previous experience leading or directing maintenance personnel preferred.
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic electrical knowledge and welding experience are a plus.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems.
- Ability to pass required physical and drug screening.
