Architectural Designer

The ideal candidate is a strong production-focused designer with 4-10 years of experience in retail commercial architecture who can independently develop construction documents, navigate building codes, and thrive in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce complete permit and construction document packages for commercial building projects.
• Develop architectural plans, elevations, sections, details, and project-specific documentation.
• Create, maintain, and update Revit/BIM models throughout all project phases.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and internal project teams to ensure accurate and coordinated design documentation.
• Assist with design development, space planning, site adaptation, and project detailing.
• Support prototypical and multi-site commercial development programs, including retail rollout projects.
• Apply building codes, client standards, and architectural best practices throughout project execution.
• Participate in project meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet project milestones.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Support BIM workflows and contribute to maintaining project standards and documentation quality.
• Assist with construction administration support and responses to field-related design questions as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Exposure to large-scale retail clients such as Walmart, Target, Sam's Club, Costco, or similar national brands.
• 4-10 years of architectural design experience within a commercial architecture or A/E environment.
• Advanced proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.
• Experience producing complete construction document packages.
• Strong understanding of commercial building systems, construction methods, and detailing.
• Knowledge of building codes and permitting requirements.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within project teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting retail, grocery, restaurant/QSR, hospitality, healthcare, education, or commercial development projects.
• Experience working on prototypical and multi-site programs.
• Familiarity with BIM workflows, Revit family creation, and model management.
• Experience supporting both renovation and ground-up commercial projects
• Prior experience working within an Architecture & Engineering (A/E) firm environment.
