Maintenance Supervisor

Willcox Matthews is recruiting for an experienced Industrial Maintenance Supervisor to join an established manufacturing company.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on maintenance professional with proven supervisory experience who is looking to take the next step in their career.

Offering up to $90,000 per year, a first-shift schedule and the opportunity to progress into a Maintenance Manager position, this role provides excellent long-term career prospects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising maintenance technicians, troubleshooting industrial production equipment and ensuring the efficient operation of manufacturing machinery.

This is a hands-on industrial maintenance leadership position, NOT a general building or facilities maintenance role.

To be considered, applicants must have:

• 5 years of industrial maintenance experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
• 2 years of maintenance supervisory or team leadership experience, with responsibility for directing maintenance technicians.
• Strong hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience on industrial production machinery.
• Working knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment, including fault diagnosis.
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic, motor and conveyor systems.
• Experience managing preventive maintenance programs and using CMMS software.
• Experience coordinating maintenance projects, including planning and budgeting.
• Strong knowledge of industrial safety procedures, including OSHA and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).

Please note: Candidates whose experience is limited to residential maintenance, commercial building maintenance or general facilities maintenance without substantial industrial manufacturing experience will not meet the requirements of this position.

This is not an entry-level supervisory opportunity. We are looking for someone who can confidently lead a maintenance team while remaining technically involved in equipment troubleshooting and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule and develop a team of industrial maintenance mechanics and technicians.
• Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Oversee preventive maintenance programs to reduce unplanned downtime.
• Diagnose equipment failures, conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Support equipment installations, upgrades and capital improvement projects.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with production and engineering teams.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders and equipment history using CMMS.
• Manage spare parts inventory, maintenance supplies and vendor relationships.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
• Train, mentor and develop maintenance personnel.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 2 years of maintenance supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding capabilities.
• Experience working with industrial motors, conveyors, gearboxes, pumps and bearings.
• Knowledge of PLC-controlled machinery and industrial electrical systems.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Proven ability to develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules.
• Experience using CMMS and managing maintenance work orders.
• Previous involvement in maintenance projects, budgeting and contractor coordination.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure during equipment breakdowns.

Desirable Experience

• Technical or trade school certification.
• Electrical or mechanical journeyman certification.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or TPM.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Experience with equipment installations, rebuilds and capital projects.
