Fluency in Punjabi is required to effectively support student communication and instructional goals.

Responsibilities
- Instructional Support: Provide direct instruction to individuals or small groups in areas such as cognitive development, motor skills, and self-help as directed by the lead teacher.
- Health and Safety Monitoring: Maintain a safe environment for physically handicapped students by identifying potential hazards and monitoring health conditions.
- Personal Care Assistance: Support students with personal hygiene, including toileting, diapering, and washing, while assisting those with severe eating or feeding difficulties.
- Behavioral Management: Monitor and control student behavior according to established guidelines and positive behavior intervention support policies.
- Specialized Equipment Operation: Use and maintain various medical, orthopedic, and audio-visual equipment, including assisting students with braces or repositioning needs.
- Documentation and Collaboration: Assist teachers in maintaining records of student progress and medication, while gathering necessary information for IEP meetings and collaborating with school staff.
- Facility Maintenance: Prepare and organize instructional materials and ensure the assigned facility remains in a clean and sanitary condition.
- Emergency Response: Administer first aid and CPR as required according to safety guidelines.
- Must be able to speak Punjabi fluently.
- Foundational understanding of basic child development as it relates to special education students.
- Ability to provide first aid and CPR according to established standards.
- Ability to lift, position, and reposition students and assist with orthopedic equipment.
- Willingness to attend periodic training and in-services related to medical interventions and instructional programming.
- Ability to work effectively with specialists, general education teachers, and case workers.
