Database Manager (SQL)

Our client is looking for a Database Manager with expertise in SQL or PostgreSQL

This is hybrid 3 days onsite in Downtown Chicago

Responsibilities:

• Manages day to day activities of database administration staff in support of all databases for projects and production
• Manages database department efforts in support of project teams, review and approve proposed changes by project teams to the logical database design and approve changes to Corporation’s databases
• Contribute to decisions on personnel actions (hiring, promotions, terminations, etc.)
• Manages activities with other departments (e.g. information technology, unix administration, technical support, production automation, project office, etc.)

Qualifications:

• 3 years of managing all areas of a database group including direct people management
• 8 years of SQL and/or PostgreSQL experience
• In-depth knowledge of how database department fits into development lifecycle
• Excellent communication skills, analytical abilities, strong judgement and management skills, and ability to work with customers, managers and staff
