Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Serve as a consistent advocate and point of contact between clients and insurance carriers
- Manage all aspects of assigned claims from inception through resolution, including investigation, evaluation, and negotiation
- Review and assess bodily injury and property damage claims
- Conduct interviews with insureds, claimants, and witnesses to gather facts and document findings
- Analyze medical records and identify coverage issues
- Prepare detailed claims reviews for open files and present findings during client meetings
- Maintain and monitor active claims diaries to ensure timely updates and resolution
- Adjust reserves as appropriate and manage claim settlement strategies
- Review vendor invoices to ensure compliance with billing guidelines
- Communicate proactively with insureds, carriers, legal counsel, and other stakeholders throughout the claims lifecycle
- Support internal team members by providing guidance on claim submissions and applicable lines of business
- No direct supervisory responsibilities
- Acts as a resource and mentor to Claims Administrators and junior staff regarding claim processes and best practices
- Proven experience handling general liability claims for Commercial Lines Insurance
- Exceptional knowledge of claims handling practices, coverage evaluation, and resolution strategy
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Client-focused mindset with the ability to advocate and manage complex claim situations
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team
- Professional, goal-oriented, and solutions-driven
- Prior experience working in a national insurance brokerage or with self-insured programs
- Experience in multi-jurisdictional claims and large loss management
- Familiarity with claims systems and analytics tools
