Job Description

A well-established insurance agency is seeking an experienced accounting professional to step into a leadership role as the current Head of Accounting prepares for retirement. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys managing day-to-day accounting operations while leading a small team in a collaborative, agency environment.

Location: Fresno, CA (Hybrid – in-office Tuesday–Thursday)

Salary: $80,000–$120,000 (commensurate with experience)

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all accounting operations for the agency
• Lead and support a small accounting team (2 direct reports)
• Prepare and review producer statements and commissions
• Manage payroll processing and related reporting
• Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across financial processes
• Partner with leadership on financial reporting and operational needs
• Support system usage and optimization within AMS360
  
  

Qualifications

• Prior accounting experience within an insurance agency strongly preferred
• Experience using AMS360 highly desirable
• Proven ability to manage accounting functions and supervise staff
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently
• Comfortable in a hybrid work environment with consistent in-office presence
  
  

Work Environment

• Hybrid schedule with required in-office presence Tuesday through Thursday in Fresno
• Small agency setting with broad responsibility and visibility
