As an underwriter, you will play a key role in assessing risks, processing applications, and managing professional lines accounts, including those in the accountant niche.
Compensation Package
- Salary Range: $65,000 - $110,000 (commensurate with experience)
- Incentives: Annual performance-based bonus and yearly salary review/raise
- Benefits: Comprehensive health and dental insurance (100% employer-paid for individuals, family plans available), Aetna coverage
- 401(k): Available from day one with matching after one year (100% of the first 3%, 50% on the next 2%)
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid model (4 days in-office, 1 day remote after training/onboarding)
- Travel: No travel required
- Act as the program administrator for the carrier, managing professional lines accounts, including those in the accountant niche.
- Review applications, assess risks, and process quotes, endorsements, and policy issuances.
- Collaborate with multiple independent agents to provide exceptional customer service and sales support.
- Negotiate with carriers to secure optimal terms and pricing.
- Quote and bind new and renewal business, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
- Utilize proprietary software to manage underwriting processes efficiently.
- Licensure/Designations: Property & Casualty (P&C) license is not required.
- Experience: Open to candidates with varying levels of experience, including those transitioning from personal lines to professional lines. Professional lines experience is preferred.
- Account Expertise: Familiarity with professional lines, particularly Errors & Omissions (E&O) insurance, is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using proprietary systems and the ability to adapt to new software.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently without micromanagement.
