Job Store Staffing is partnering with an innovative consumer products manufacturer to hire a senior-level Mechanical Engineer specializing in motorization and controls for a temporary contract opportunity.

Pay: $100/hour

This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on electromechanical product development, motorized systems, and high-volume consumer product design. The ideal candidate will have strong experience leading products from concept through production while collaborating across engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, and product teams.
What You’ll Work On:
• Mechanical design of motorized systems, housings, mounts, battery enclosures, and compact mechanisms
• High-volume product development with focus on manufacturability, reliability, acoustics, and user experience
• Engineering analysis including tolerance stacks, DFMEA, NVH/noise reduction, durability, and thermal considerations
• Prototype builds, validation testing, and product optimization
• Collaboration with domestic and global suppliers and manufacturing partners
• Design governance including CAD, drawings, BOMs, ECOs, and release processes
• User-focused product development emphasizing ergonomics, aesthetics, tactile feel, and quiet performance
What We’re Looking For:
• BS in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred)
• 8 years of electromechanical product development experience
• Expertise with SolidWorks and/or NX UG
• Strong background in DFM/DFA, plastics, die castings, sheet metal, and precision assemblies
• Experience with DC motors, gear trains, battery-powered systems, and compact mechanisms
• Proven success working with cross-functional teams and global suppliers
• Experience with reliability testing, acoustics/NVH, and high-volume manufacturing
Preferred Experience:
• Consumer products, home automation, or IoT devices
• Embedded systems integration
• Human factors, ergonomics, and user-focused design
• Battery compliance and regulatory familiarity
• Acoustic optimization and quiet mechanism design
