The Jefferson Hotel, a historic luxury property in Richmond, VA, is seeking professional, energetic, and guest-focused individuals to join our team as Banquet Servers. This role is responsible for servicing all banquet functions, from setup through service and breakdown, ensuring an exceptional experience for our guests. Basic Functions & Scope

• Service all banquet functions relating to preparation, setup, service, and breakdown.
• Ensure public and meeting spaces are clean, organized, and guest-ready at all times.
• Provide attentive, professional service while anticipating guest needs.
• Collaborate with banquet captains, culinary staff, and fellow servers to deliver seamless service.
• Uphold the highest service standards to reflect the reputation of The Jefferson Hotel.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Set up and break down banquet rooms and event spaces in accordance with function requirements.
• Deliver food and beverages promptly, accurately, and professionally.
• Respond to guest requests with professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas throughout events.
• Handle special requests and event-specific needs as directed.
• Support teammates and contribute to a smooth flow of service during high-volume functions.

Key Requirements

• Availability: Flexible schedule based on business levels, including early mornings or late evenings; Fridays and Saturdays are required, with additional availability on holidays.
• Experience: Prior food service or banquet experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidates.
• Skills: Excellent people skills and communication skills required.
• Work Ethic: Dependable, punctual, and accountable; able to work independently and within a team environment.
• Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to lift and balance heavy trays above shoulder level and safely lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an enthusiastic, guest-minded approach.
• Physically capable of standing and walking for extended periods.
