What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facility Support position at THE JAY GROUP INC?
Facility Maintenance Support position available for The Jay Group a 3PL company located in Lancaster, PA. This position performs maintenance functions between in the Lancaster facility. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a distribution or a fulfillment center.
- Performs preventive maintenance tasks for electric, plumbing, HVAC, lawn & tree care, housekeeping, elevators, powered industrial equipment, fire and security, fire suppression sprinklers, pest control, and snow removal at Lancaster area facilities.
- Observes proper lock-out, tag-out procedures.
- Performs tasks with outside vendors to complete preventative maintenance and larger projects that cannot be handled by the internal Maintenance Team.
- Completes tasks to support Maintenance requests submitted by employees in all departments of the company and for any companies that lease space from Jay Group.
- Removes equipment requiring repair from use, effectively repairs equipment, and tests equipment prior to re-introduction to active production.
- Performs inspections of fire extinguishers, pest control units, facility temperature control units, and sprinkler systems as required within the facilities.

The qualified candidate will have the following experience:
- Three (3) years of related maintenance, carpentry, electrical, and equipment repair in a light industrial environment required.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Experience w/conveyors, photo-eyes, scanners and imagers, basic warehouse equip. including stretch wrappers, pallet jacks, bailers, compactors and PIT's required
- Experience with PLC's preferred.
- Ability to communicate findings of inspections and maintenance issues with team members of all levels.
- Remain detail oriented while multi-tasking
