Job Summary
The Huckleberry Café & Bakery in downtown Louisville is hiring for a SEASONAL part-time bakery prep person! This individual would assist in producing pie dough, pie crusts, pie fillings, & other bakery goods as needed to fulfill the high volume of orders through November and December. Opportunity for additional shifts for baking production the week of Thanksgiving and Christmas. This position is for 2 days/week, every week, through the end of the year. The ideal candidate receives and responds to instruction well and can work at a quick pace once trained.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assemble baked goods following established recipes and standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including mixers, ovens, and dough sheeters
- Package baked items carefully to maintain freshness and quality during storage and display
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace by adhering to food safety management practices
- Support high-volume production needs during peak times while ensuring consistency in product quality
Experience
- Previous experience in food production, baking, or pastry preparation is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques is highly valued
- Experience with cake decorating or dough preparation can be beneficial but is not mandatory
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to follow recipes accurately and adhere to production schedules
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
