FARMERS MARKET SALES ASSOCIATE — TARTA BAKERY

Tarta is a Boulder-based Basque cheesecake company specializing in small-batch, high-quality desserts. Inspired by the iconic cheesecakes of San Sebastián, our cheesecakes are caramelized on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside. We’re a small, nimble team looking for the right people to grow with Tarta.

We’re looking for an energetic, outgoing and dependable Farmers Market Sales Associate to represent Tarta Bakery at area markets, including Boulder, Louisville, Nederland, and more. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys talking with people, loves the lively farmers market atmosphere, and is excited about food and local businesses.

We’re currently hiring for Fall 2026 and also accepting applications for the 2027 market season, which begins in April.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Pick up cheesecakes, market supplies, and display materials from our kitchen and storage locations in Boulder.

· Safely transport products and materials to and from markets.

· Set up and take down the market tent, tables, signage, and product display.

· Welcome customers, share the story behind Tarta, and confidently sell our cheesecakes.

· Process purchases accurately using our point-of-sale (POS) system.

· Keep the booth attractive, organized, clean, and well stocked.

· Return remaining products and market materials to the kitchen or storage location as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

· Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.

· Reliable access to a vehicle large enough to carry a market tent, table, storage bin, two coolers, and other supplies.

· Ability to lift, load, unload, and transport products and market equipment.

· Comfort setting up and taking down a farmers market booth.

· Dependability and punctuality, including for early-morning and weekend shifts.

· This is a sales position. A friendly, outgoing personality and confidence starting conversations with customers is required.

· Genuine interest in food and enthusiasm for Tarta’s products.

· Ability to work independently and responsibly.

· A smartphone with hotspot capability to connect the POS system when Wi-Fi is unavailable.

· Previous customer service, retail, hospitality, or sales experience preferred.

SCHEDULE

This is a part-time, market-based position with early-morning and weekend shifts. Specific market dates and hours will be discussed during the interview process. Flexibility to cover occasional last-minute market opportunities is a plus.

Fall 2026: Candidates must be available for all or most Saturdays through November 21, 2026.

2027 season: Market season begins in April. We welcome applications from candidates interested in Fall 2026, the 2027 season, or both. Please indicate your preference when applying.

COMPENSATION

$20–$25 per hour, depending on experience.

LOCATION

Our kitchen and storage unit are located in Boulder. Markets take place in Boulder, Louisville, Longmont, Nederland, Golden, and occasionally Denver/other areas. Associates must be comfortable driving between our Boulder pickup locations and these markets.
