The Horsham Clinic also offers partial hospitalization services for children, teens and adults at our main campus in Ambler, and at our Chester County and Delaware County partial programs. What You’ll Do (Position Description)

The Nursing Supervisor’s primary responsibilities include providing administrative and clinical supervision, crisis intervention and the coordination of operations of services in a patient care/hospital setting. The Nursing Supervisor works closely with our CNO, ADON, our Physician teams and HR Director to ensure efficient operations within the Nursing Department. The Nursing Supervisor will coordinate, delegate, evaluate and monitor nursing care for a variety of psychiatric patients. Successful candidates must demonstrate leadership abilities that contribute to a positive work environment, exercise considerable judgement to make sound and logical decisions in a fast-paced environment, maintain the quality and adequacy of nursing practice and must know and comply with all confidentiality laws and regulation, e.g., HIPPA.

The Nursing Supervisor should also demonstrate respect and understanding of patients, as well as be able to effectively engage with all levels of stakeholders, including our CEO and CNO, various departments, patients and their families.

The work is performed in a hospital/inpatient behavioral health setting, therefore, there exists a potential for exposure to environmental hazards and contagious diseases, exposure to crisis/emergency situations, and exposure to all infectious diseases including HIV/TB/Hepatitis, blood and body fluids and needle sticks.

Contributions to Team Success (Job Duties/Responsibilities)

· Knowledge of principles and practices relevant to nursing and patient care activities.

· Ensure patient and environmental safety by conducting unit safety checks and patient rounds observations.

· Demonstrate a level of leadership and direction within patient care parameters.

· Monitors and responds to all codes and ensures proper documentation.

· Control FTEs and arrange staffing for units in accordance with staffing grids, census and patient acuity (as needed).

· Works closely with Admissions Department regarding patients being admitted after hours and those being discharged.

· Educate employees on policy interpretation and nursing-specific protocols.

· Monitor employee competencies; provide education, recommendations and support.

What We Want To See From You! (Job Requirements/Preferred Skills)

· Graduate of accredited Nursing Program; BSN preferred

· Registered Nursing License required; license is in good standing

· 4 years of clinical experience in inpatient psychiatric health setting required

· Minimum of 3 years as a clinical supervisor experience in inpatient psychiatric health setting required

· Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred

· Basic understanding of Staffing grids and staffing needs preferred

· EMR (Cerner) experience preferred; computer-based knowledge preferred

· Strong oral and written skills

· Strong teamwork skills

· Excellent organization and time management skills

· Strategic and empathetic decision-making skills
