Senior Manager Buildings and Grounds

JOB SUMMARY

The Bayberry Group, The Homestead and Manitou Passage Golf Club are seeking a superb and

energetic manager to lead our Buildings and Grounds Team. The successful candidate will have:

passion for detail, deep knowledge of facilities and asset management and exceptional abilities to

manage people. This individual will oversee all budgeting, hiring, training, scheduling, reporting

and compliance. They will work closely with our other members of the management team both

inside and outside the Buildings and Grounds department to deliver exceptional guest

experiences.

The Homestead is a year-round resort property in Glen Arbor, MI. We offer skiing, golf, spa,

salon, pools, roughly a mile of frontage of Sleeping Bear Bay, meetings, real estate brokerage,

weddings, and onsite dining/catering.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Hiring, scheduling, and training of all staff related to Buildings and Grounds(buildings,

landscape, roadways, equipment, ski and golf assets, pools, ponds, and pumps).

• Manage daily operations.
• Develop work lists and standards that focus on safety and quality.
• Oversee all aspects safety and quality control to insure superior guest experiences.
• Lead budgeting for areas of responsibility and report frequently against results.
• Monitor and report on guest satisfaction.
• Assist other managers and other team members with the overall management of the

property to maximize guest satisfaction and profitability.

• Other duties, including helping other portfolio properties, as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s or Associates degree preferred (but not required) with a concentration in

hospitality, ski area operations, turf grass management, construction management, and or

business management.

• 3-5 years of full-time management or equivalent work experience in a related business or

other relevant experience.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency with Microsoft

office.

• Proven ability to work in an aggressive team environment.
• Strong prioritization skills, with ability to direct multiple projects simultaneously, and

monitor progress to ensure timely completion of quality work product.

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally and meet individual

and team deadlines.

• Experience leading people, including hiring, training, discipline, and coaching.
• Strong understanding of financial statements.
• Superior ability to collaborate and problem solve.
• A strong desire to win and elevate those around you.
• Exceptional judgement and willingness to learn our policies and procedures and manage

accordingly.

• Strong desire to developpeople and systems to achieve shared goals.
• Must have the flexibility to work a diverse schedule as dictated by operations.
• Must have a valid Michigan Drivers license.
• COMPENSATION
• Salary commensurate with education, skills, and experience with benefits and annual bonus.
• Hiring range $70,000 and inclusion in the total compensation plan (revenue sharing), and other
