Hernandez Law Firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our growing practice in Ocean County, New Jersey.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney who wants to become a courtroom litigator. Our practice is devoted primarily to DWI defense, followed by criminal defense, municipal court matters, and appellate advocacy. The successful candidate will work directly with one of New Jersey's Board Certified Attorneys in DUI Defense Law and will receive hands-on mentoring while handling meaningful litigation from day one.
Responsibilities
• Represent clients in DWI, criminal, and municipal court matters throughout New Jersey.
• Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, and memoranda.
• Appear in court for hearings, motions, conferences, and trials.
• Prepare cases for trial, including discovery review, witness preparation, and evidentiary analysis.
• Meet with clients and provide legal counsel throughout their cases.
• Participate in appellate and complex litigation matters as experience develops.
Qualifications
• Admission to practice law in New Jersey.
• 0–5 years of legal experience.
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple cases while maintaining attention to detail.
• A genuine interest in DWI defense, criminal law, and trial advocacy.
• Prior judicial clerkship is preferred but not required.
• Spanish language proficiency is a significant plus.
