About The Hangout Zone
The Hangout Zone is a vibrant, activity-based enrichment center designed exclusively for kids ages 7-14. We combine gaming, media, music, and interactive fun in a safe, creative space that promotes social connection and self-expression. As a Team Supervisor, you will help bring this environment to life by leading the team, managing daily operations, and ensuring every child has a fun, safe, and memorable experience.
Position Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of The Hangout Zone and ensuring a safe, engaging, and well-organized environment for children. This role manages staff, coordinates programming and events, maintains safety protocols, and delivers a high-quality customer experience. Team Supervisor must have prior experience working in a children’s entertainment venue, youth activity center, camp, family entertainment center, or similar youth-focused environment.
Schedule Requirements
- Part time 20-30 hours per week
- At least two weekends per month required
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the facility including opening and closing procedures
- Supervise and schedule staff including Zone Leaders and Party Leaders
- Ensure all safety, supervision, and operational protocols are consistently followed
- Monitor activity areas to ensure children are engaged, supervised, and participating safely
- Coordinate birthday parties, group events, and special programming
- Recruit, onboard, and train new staff in accordance with HR regulations and procedures
- Ensure proper check-in and check-out procedures for all participants
- Address customer questions or concerns in a professional and timely manner
- Maintain organization, cleanliness, and readiness of all activity zones and equipment
- Assist ownership with operational improvements and programming development
Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- 3 to 5 years of management experience in youth activity centers, recreation programs, camps, school, entertainment venues, or similar environments preferred
- Proven ability to lead and supervise teams in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment
- Strong organizational and operational management skills, including scheduling staff and coordinating activities
- Ability to manage multiple activity areas, staff members, and operational priorities simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact positively with children, parents, and team members
- Demonstrate ability to resolve customer concerns professionally and maintain a positive guest experience
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound decision-making ability in a dynamic environment
- Ability to remain calm and composed during busy or high-energy operating periods
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, structured, and engaging environment for children
- Experience coordinating events, parties, or group activities is a plus
- Energetic and positive personality with the ability to connect naturally with children and create a fun atmosphere
- Interest or familiarity with gaming, media production, music, or digital content activities is a plus
