Primary Job Responsibilities
- Provide leadership for the morning routine at the house before students leave for school by making AM assignments, ensuring all students complete their morning routines including ADLs and breakfast and ensuring medication is given
- Oversee a safe morning transition from the residence to the day program by ensuring all protocols are followed including ensuring all students are safely loaded onto the house vehicles with correct ratio of supervision, completing the AM transition sheet and ensuring all students arrive safely at the school
- Remain awake for the entire shift and to provide support to individuals in the house as needed.
- Complete overnight checklists and reports as outlined by each individual’s service plan and/or behavior plan
- Work as a member of a team to maintain a clean, safe, positive living environment for each individual who lives at the residence including completing laundry and cleaning assignments
- Assist in the development and implementation of each individual’s residential IEP/ISP and daily activity schedule
- Implement positive behavior supports and individual behavior support plans for individuals who live in the home
- Assist in record keeping and report writing, as assigned
- Provide supervision of all individuals while under his/her care
- Administer and record individuals’ medications, in compliance with MAP
- Able to transport individuals to various locations
- Provide direct supervision and care to individuals, including 1:1 responsibilities at all times and locations
- Participate in any meetings pertaining to assigned individuals or program planning, as directed.
- Engage in de-escalation of individuals
- Able to attend training as required
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- A minimum of an Associate's Degree is preferred; prior experience in lieu of a degree will be considered
- A valid driver's license
- Must meet DPPC background check requirements
- MAP (Medication Administration Program) certification or the ability to obtain MAP certification within first 90 days of employment
