Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Assists the lead teacher in implementing plans and activities.
- Provides one-on-one and small group support to students to reinforce learning concepts.
- Monitors and manages student behavior to maintain a positive and safe classroom environment.
- Supports students by providing guidance and encouragement.
- Collaborates with the lead teacher and other staff members to address student needs.
- Communicates effectively with students, and staff to foster a supportive learning community
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Associate's degree or higher in education or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience working in special education setting is plus.
- Demonstrates strong classroom management skills.
- Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Displays patience and empathy when working with students.
- Maintains strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrates the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and staff.
- Understands and applies behavior management techniques.
- Associates preferred, High School Diploma required
- Training or experience teaching skills to a students who have mental health diagnoses and/or developmental disabilities
- A valid driver's license
- Undergo Massachusetts Background record check process
- Reliable transportation to residential homes located in Massachusetts
- Physical and mental capacity to work in stressful situations and de-escalate individuals who have limited cognition and complex needs
