Summary:
The Licensed Clinical Social Worker – Community Outreach, Assessment and Support serves as the agency liaison to community service providers, completes competency assessments, provides training to staff in areas of expertise including family engagement and trauma informed care and facilitates support groups with parents, guardians and siblings of individuals served. The LCSW participates in agency research projects and strategic plan initiatives based on areas of expertise and interest.
Job Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain relationships with local police (including each department’s community service officer(s) and mental health/behavior support clinicians), fire and EMS relationships regarding Guild students and residents, collaborating with Guild teams when follow up needed related to a specific student/resident
- Establish and maintain relationships with crisis teams, local behavioral health centers, community mental health services providers, emergency rooms and urgent care centers (based on location of our residences and school) regarding the needs of Guild students/residents
- Establish and maintain relationships with hospitals with inpatient child, adolescent and adult psychiatric/neuropsychiatric units that serve individuals with IDD
- Support Guild staff in navigating community emergency systems during times of crisis.
- Complete competency assessment in collaboration with licensed psychologists to make recommendations around need for substitute judgement and guardianship
- Develop and maintain Guild directory of public and private resources for families, guardians, and stakeholders.
- Coordinate and conduct educational/training activities, support groups, and/or community building activities for parents/guardians and other relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate and conduct professional development opportunities for a broad group of community members and clinical professionals.
- Provide training to Guild staff in areas of expertise including interactions with families/guardians and trauma-informed care (in both cases training that is not specific to individual student or parents)
- Provide psychoeducational groups for families, guardians, and other stakeholders
- Maintain current knowledge of clinical practices and prioritize the use of trauma-informed and evidence-based practices, including researching programming trends and current practices used in other programs/milieus; research and review current assessment and treatment techniques within clinical discipline, special education systems, and community resources.

- Attend trainings and maintain professional licensure/certification as required.
