What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Center Program Assistant - Good Hope position at THE GROVE COMMUNITY CHURCH?
The Moses-Schafer Community Center in Good Hope is a place for outreach and practical services offered to the communities of the Perris area. The Program Assistant works closely with the Center Manager to create a welcoming environment for all people. This position plays an important role in the planning, implementation, and oversight of daily activities and major events.
Reports to: Community Center Manager
Works with: Community Centers and Outreach staff and volunteers
Works: Part time, approximately 20-25 hours per week, hourly;
Various hours as needed
ADMINISTRATIVE OVERSIGHT — 40%
- Provide administrative support to the Community Center Manager.
- Cover receptionist desk and answer phones.
- Serve as point of contact for individuals and groups regarding programs, services, and events.
- Provide oversight to the Community Center to fill in for the Manager as needed.
- Coordinate with local feeding ministries on administrative details.
PROGRAMS AND EVENTS — 50%
- Assist with recreational activities — arts and crafts, seniors groups, youth activities, games, and sports.
- Provide hospitality to visitors at the center.
- Assist in covering rentals; serve as host during special events and reservations.
- Assist the Manager with event reservations as needed.
OTHER— 10%
- Help ensure the center is a safe, organized, and clean environment.
- Attend team meetings, staff meetings, and trainings.
REQUIREMENTS
- Applicants must have bilingual fluency in Spanish and English.
- Applicants must be able to lift/move items weighing approximately 50lbs.
- Flexible schedule leading up to events.
