Community Center Program Assistant-Mead Valley

Description

The Charles Meigs Community Center in Mead Valley is a place for outreach and practical services offered to the communities of the Perris area. The Program Assistant works closely with the Center Manager to create a welcoming environment for all people. This position plays an important role in the planning, implementation, and oversight of daily activities and major events.

Reports to:       Community Center Manager

Works with:     Community Centers and Outreach Staff and volunteers

Works:              Part time, approximately 20-25 hours per week, hourly
 

ADMINiSTRATIVE OVERSIGHT – 40%   

• Provide administrative support to the Community Center Manager.
• Cover receptionist desk and answer phones.
• Serve as point of contact for individuals and groups regarding programs, services, and events.
• Provide oversight to the Community Center to fill in for the Manager as needed.
• Coordinate with local feeding ministries on administrative details.

PROGRAMS AND EVENTS – 50%    

• Assist with recreational activities — community events, youth activities, games, and sports.
• Provide hospitality to visitors at the center.
• Assist in covering rentals; serve as host during special events and reservations.
• Assist the Manager with event reservations as needed.

other – 10%                         

• Help ensure the Community Center is a safe, organized, and clean environment.
• Attend team meetings, staff­ meetings, and trainings.

Applicants who have bilingual fluency in Spanish and English are preferred.
