Job Overview:
We are seeking motivated and skilled concrete laborers to join our construction team. The Concrete Laborer will primarily work on sidewalk construction and repairs, assisting in the preparation, pouring, and finishing of concrete sidewalks. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing, forming, and pouring concrete for sidewalks, curbs, and related surfaces.
- Set up and remove forms for concrete sidewalks, ensuring accurate alignment and depth.
- Mix, pour, and spread concrete according to specifications.
- Level and smooth concrete surfaces using various hand tools, trowels, and power tools.
- Assist with reinforcement tasks, such as placing rebar or wire mesh within sidewalk forms.
- Ensure proper curing and finishing techniques are applied to concrete surfaces.
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of sidewalks as required.
- Load, unload, and transport concrete materials to the work site.
- Use power tools such as concrete saws, grinders, and vibrators to ensure proper concrete work.
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite by clearing debris, tools, and materials.
- Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Assist in measuring and marking guidelines for sidewalk projects.
- Work closely with the team to ensure concrete is poured and finished within project deadlines and quality standards.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a laborer in the concrete or construction industry preferred.
- Basic knowledge of concrete mixing, pouring, and finishing techniques.
- Ability to operate basic hand tools and power equipment used in concrete work.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy materials (up to 75 lbs).
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
