The Grasso Companies is looking for a motivated and reliable Asphalt Laborer to join our team. In this role, you will work alongside paving crews to assist with the preparation, installation, and finishing of asphalt surfaces for various construction projects. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of the job site, including clearing debris and preparing surfaces for asphalt application.
- Operate basic hand tools and machinery, such as shovels, rakes, and tampers, to spread and level asphalt materials.
- Assist with loading and unloading asphalt materials from trucks.
- Work with the paving crew to ensure that asphalt is properly compacted and finished to meet job specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that tools and equipment are stored properly.
- Assist in the setup and maintenance of job site safety equipment, such as cones and barriers.
- Follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as needed.
- Work closely with supervisors and other team members to ensure the timely and accurate completion of projects.
- Help in the application of hot mix asphalt on roads, parking lots, driveways, and other surfaces.
- Assist in the proper disposal of waste materials from the job site.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in asphalt paving is required.
- Comfortable with physical labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
