Job Description:
The Beautician provides hair care and grooming services to clients or residents, helping promote personal hygiene, dignity, and overall well-being. This role enhances confidence and quality of life through professional, compassionate service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide hair services including cutting, styling, shampooing, and basic coloring (if applicable)
- Perform grooming services such as beard trims, facial hair care, and basic nail care (if within scope)
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment in accordance with health regulations
- Build positive relationships with clients/residents and staff
- Schedule and manage appointments efficiently
- Monitor and maintain supplies, notifying management when inventory is low
- Follow all infection control and safety procedures
- Ensure all equipment is properly sanitized after each use
- Accommodate special needs of elderly or disabled clients with patience and care
Qualifications:
- Valid Cosmetology/Beautician License (required)
- Previous experience in a salon, healthcare, or long-term care setting preferred
- Knowledge of sanitation and infection control standards
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Compassionate, patient, and customer-service oriented
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift/move light equipment
- Fine motor skills for styling and grooming tasks
Work Environment:
- Salon setting within a facility or standalone salon
- Interaction with elderly or medically fragile individuals (if in healthcare setting)
- May require flexible hours depending on client needs
