Courses may include on-level or Advanced Placement English, with the possible addition of journalism, yearbook, creative writing, or other electives to be determined based on teaching strengths and institutional needs.

Position Summary
The Galloway School is seeking a teacher who is primarily responsible for teaching five sections of English and engaging joyfully and collaboratively with the Galloway community. Principal Responsibilities
- Teach five sections of high school English core classes and/or electives.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure inclusive representation and valuing of diverse voices of both authors and students in each English classroom and across grade levels.
- Support student engagement through project-based learning, hands-on activities, experimentation and iteration, and other active approaches to learning.
- Take a student-centered approach by providing responsive instruction, including differentiation and flexibility to adjust plans when needed.
- Use activities and a variety of assessment types to assess student learning and monitor growth.
- Use assessment results to guide instruction for individuals and groups.
- Stay updated on current methods and research in the teaching of English language arts.
- Seek and accept feedback in the spirit of continuous improvement.
- Serve as an advisor to an assigned group of Upper Learning students in 9th - 12th grade.
- Participate in extracurricular activities, such as sponsorship of clubs, involvement in after-school student activities, and/or chaperoning of student events.
- Participate constructively and collaboratively in professional development, grade-level, and department meetings.
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, and engaging classroom environment.
- Communicate with parents in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
