Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Building Automation Controls Technician to design, install, program, commission, troubleshoot, and support building automation and control systems. This position supports mission-critical facilities and requires strong technical judgment, dependable customer service, and the flexibility to travel throughout the United States on a variable project schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, install, program, commission, and troubleshoot building automation and control systems.

• Develop and modify control sequences, programming, graphics, and operator interfaces.

• Configure and troubleshoot Tridium Niagara AX and N4 systems, PLCs, PID control loops, BACnet, and Modbus networks.

• Support HVAC, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, critical-load, and backup-generator systems.

• Read and interpret controls architecture drawings, sequences of operation, P&IDs, electrical drawings, and technical documentation.

• Wire and assemble control panels and select appropriate sensors, controllers, and control components.

• Develop controls and interfaces for temperature, pressure, airflow, and liquid-process applications.

• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, programming, and communication issues.

• Identify potential system failures and implement proactive corrective actions.

• Communicate with customers, engineers, vendors, contractors, and facility personnel.

• Coordinate vendors to ensure work meets applicable standards, regulations, and operating procedures.

• Respond promptly to critical system issues while maintaining project schedules and customer expectations.

Required Experience

• 3-5 years of experience designing and implementing ground-up building automation and control systems.

• At least 3 years of Tridium Niagara AX or N4 experience and certification.

• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, BAS/BMS platforms, instrumentation, PLC programming, and PID loop tuning.

• Experience with control-panel wiring, installation, sensors, controllers, BACnet, and Modbus.

• Ability to interpret controls architecture drawings, sequences of operation, electrical drawings, and P&IDs.

• Understanding of object-oriented programming concepts and integrated building-management systems.

Qualifications

• 4 years of relevant trade experience or an equivalent combination of work experience, training, military service, or education.

• Apprenticeship, trade-school training, or professional experience in commercial electrical, commercial HVAC, facility engineering, or building automation controls.

• Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, organization, communication, and customer-service skills.

• Ability to work under pressure in mission-critical environments.

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods.

• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Schedule and Travel

This position does not follow a fixed schedule. The technician will travel throughout the United States based on customer and project needs. Candidates must be available for variable assignments, including evenings, weekends, holidays, on-call coverage, and emergency response when required.

Compensation and Benefits
