What are the responsibilities and job description for the Upstream Research Associate - Cell Culture Development position at The Fountain Group?
Details for the position are as follows:
- 12-month contract to start with the possibility of extension or conversion of depending on performance and business needs
- Rate: $36-46 an hour depending on education and experience level.
- Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM EST ***Weekend works is required and is occasionally. This is a rotating, schedule 1-4 hours on 1 weekend day and will include a Saturday or Sunday. This will be included in 40 work week and no to exceed 40 hours. Weekend work is pre-planned through end of year; new hire can swap with colleagues if available
- Location: Framingham, MA - 100% onsite
- Work onsite daily; participate in occasional pre-planned weekend work
- Plan and execute upstream cell culture experiments at multiple scales, including: Shake flasks, AMBR systems, 3L and 10L bioreactors
- Perform fed-batch and perfusion-based upstream experiments
- Collaborate cross-functionally to accelerate Phase I pipeline projects
- Contribute to experimental protocols, technical reports, and internal/external presentations
- Support technology transfer of processes into manufacturing facilities
- Maintain safety, environmental, and compliance standards in the laboratory
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in: Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Cell Biology, Biochemistry Or a related discipline
- ≤ 3 years of post-graduate experience
- Hands-on experience with: Aseptic techniques and Mammalian cell culture
- Experience operating fed-batch and/or perfusion bioreactors
- Familiarity with CMC concepts
- Experience with shake flasks and bioreactor systems
