Intake Specialist - Patient Assistance Program (PAP)
Pay Rate: $19.05/hour
Location: 100% Onsite
Schedule: 5 days/week
- 8.5-hour shifts between 7:00AM-7:00PM (New hires typically start on later shifts; flexibility required) Overtime: Offered and may be mandatory during peak periods (up to :10 hrs/week) Relocation: Not accepted - local candidates only
Role Overview
The Intake Specialist supports the Patient Assistance Program (PAP) by completing the initial triage and intake of patient applications. This includes data entry, document review, determining workflow routing, and ensuring accurate case documentation within the CRM. This role is essential in maintaining efficient case processing and supporting a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete intake of all patient applications in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Upload, associate, and tag patient documents and images.
- Enter demographic, physician, insurance, income, household, and drug information accurately into the CRM.
- Perform initial application assessments for completeness; conduct outreach to collect missing information.
- Evaluate simplified applications and determine appropriate workflow based on established business rules.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure adherence to policies and business rules.
- Document all patient case activity accurately in the CRM.
- Support renewal and year-end recertification processes for PAP programs.
- Assist with special projects aimed at improving reimbursement optimization.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail and maintain organized documentation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in an office or administrative role.
- Strong computer proficiency and ability to learn systems quickly.
- Excellent communication skills—written and verbal.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- High-quality customer service skills.
- Exposure to medical or pharmacy benefit insurance concepts is a plus.
