The Fountain Group is a national staffing firm, currently seeking a Food Scientist - Product Development for a prominent client of ours, located in Atlanta, GA 30318. Details of the position are as follows:
Shift Information:
- Monday-Friday, Standard Business Hours, Onsite Position!
- Pay range starts at $40 /hr!
- 12 Month contract to start! This is a W2 Contract (No 1099/C2C), with a possibility of extension or conversion beyond the original duration based on performance & budget at that time.

Job Description:
- Position is primarily responsible for evaluating food and beverage products to identify opportunities for cost optimization, margin improvement, and product innovation through technical analysis and benchmarking.
- Position will also be responsible for conducting product teardowns, lab testing, and research on ingredients, formulations, manufacturing processes, and commodity inputs to support cost modeling and design-for-manufacturing initiatives.
- Position will be in charge of collaborating with cross-functional and global teams to develop insights, prepare detailed reports and presentations, and support strategic decision-making across product development and procurement efforts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related field with strong academic performance (minimum GPA 3.0) is required!
- Hands-on experience in food or beverage product development, including formulation, lab testing, and ingredient/process evaluation is required!
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex technical information into clear presentations is required!
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Food Scientist, Certified Culinary Scientist, or similar is preferred!
- Experience working in collaborative, fast-paced, or consulting-style environments with exposure to global teams is preferred!
