Servers - Bartenders - Food Runners

$16 - 20 per hour based on experience (plus service charge)

Job purpose

Provide food and beverage service to club members, guest and prospects.

1. Greet and acknowledge members and guests and provide immediate attention upon seating.
2. Is knowledgeable about the menu and wine list.
3. Efficiently serves food and drinks in a friendly and courteous manner, offers suggestions on daily specials and wine selections.
4. Places orders with kitchen; informs cooks about any special cooking instructions.
5. Checks back to ensure member and guest satisfaction; replenishes water and butter as necessary.
6. Ability to time the service of each course.
7. Suggests and serves dessert, coffee and after-dinner drinks.
8. Learn members’ names and their special preferences.
9. Enhance the member experience through outstanding service skills.
10. Ensure that the correct account numbers and names are given for billing.
11. Attends pre-meal meetings as required.
12. Ensures that all members, guests and co-workers are treated in a friendly and respectful manner in accordance with the standards of excellence of The Ford Field & River Club.
13. Assists in other departments and performs additional related duties as required.
14. Understands and follows policies and procedures of the Food & Beverage department and The Ford Field & River Club.
15. Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.

• High School diploma required and must have a minimum of 2 years of previous work experience.
• Experience in a luxury or private club environment is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of club’s POS system or comparable POS system preferred.
• Ability to work large or small events with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
• The successful candidate will possess strong verbal communication skills for a high degree of interaction with members, guests and prospects.
• Must be able to project a professional, yet friendly and outgoing attitude.
• Professional appearance required.

Licenses/Certifications

• Alcohol beverage card/certification preferred
• Food Safety Certification preferred

Working Conditions

Works in an indoors or outdoors environment. Must be able to work irregular hours as required, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements

Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach. Lifts up to 50 pounds occasionally. Vision must be correctable to read and write. Hearing must be sufficient to understand conversation in a noisy environment. Must have hand usage to handle trays of food.
