Job purpose
Prepare, pour and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to the members, guests and prospects visiting The Ford Field & River Club dining facilities. Position requires the knowledge and creativity of a mixologist including food/wine pairings and wine presentation and service.
Duties and responsibilities
- Exhibit strong beverage/wine knowledge, and be professional and gracious, while enhancing the member experience through outstanding service skills.
- Stocks the bar and completes other pre-opening requirements. Arranges bottles and glasses to create an attractive and appealing display.
- Prepares garnishes, fruit mixes and pre-mixed drinks prior to opening the bar. Mixes, prepares and serves drinks to members and guests and mixes and prepares drinks ordered by food and beverage servers.
- Complies with basic safety and sanitation requirements.
- Maintains and cleans bar area and equipment.
- Basic knowledge of the Jonas system.
- Knowledgeable of all aspects of the department and daily club operations, including events and opening hours.
- Collects member name/number for drinks ordered, in lieu of cash.
- Maintains knowledge of the dinner and bar menu and be able to serve from both menus.
- Assures that all state and local laws and club policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages are consistently followed.
- Ensures that all members, guests and co-workers are treated in a friendly and respectful manner in accordance with the standards of excellence of The Ford Field & River Club.
- Assists in other departments and performs additional related duties as required.
- Understands and follows policies and procedures of the Food & Beverage department and The Ford Field & River Club.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.
Qualifications:
Qualifications and Experience
- High School diploma required and must have a minimum of 2 years of previous work experience in a luxury or private club environment.
- Bartending certification highly preferred. Must have a thorough working knowledge of the bartending trade, drinks and their composition.
- Good organizational skills.
- Basic knowledge of club’s POS system or comparable POS system preferred.
- Ability to work large or small events with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
- The successful candidate will possess strong verbal communication skills for a high degree of interaction with members, guests and prospects.
- Must be able to project a professional, yet friendly and outgoing attitude.
- Professional appearance required.
