The Ford Agency is actively looking for an attorney to join a boutique law firm in downtown Bethesda. This is a terrific role for a candidate with about 1 year of experience in litigation or personal injury who is looking for a team that provides genuine mentorship and career development. Responsibilities Include:
- Handle range of cases from intake to settlement or trial
- Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
- Represent clients at pre-trial hearings and advocate at bench and jury trials
- Interface with opposing counsel and third parties for settlement negotiations
- Trial prep, outlines, memos, and direct and cross-examination of witnesses
Qualifications Include:
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active member in good standing with the Maryland Bar and D.C. Bar (or ability to waive in)
- 1 years of experience in Civil Litigation or Personal Injury
- Excellent research and writing skills and strong analytical skills
- Familiarity with legal research databases, such as Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw, Bloomberg, and PACER
- Experience with Neos case management software a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability interact with different constituencies (other attorneys, clients, courtroom officials)
- Desire to learn and grow in a mentoring and collegial environment
Compensation:
- $65,000 - $105,000 annually
Candidates for this position must be based in DC, MD, or VA area or have independent plans for relocation.
