Job Requirements, Essential Skills, Abilities and Job Responsibilities
Optical Assistant
- Frame and contact lens sales, eyewear measurements, fitting and adjustments, ordering/ receiving merchandise
- Verification of insurance benefits
- Must be proficient with lensometers
- Knowledge of post-operative Medicare, Medicare Replacement Plans eyewear benefits
- Must have excellent communication skills, proper grammar and writing capability
- Team-oriented
- Familiar with all forms associated with the patient’s medical record (paper / electronic)
- Familiar with the use and operation of optical software/ Officemate a plus
- Knowledgeable about lenses, frames and all optical supplies
- Must have proficient computer skills
- Must be able to problem solve
- Must be detailed oriented
- Microsoft Word/ Excel/ Outlook
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
