Reporting to the Controller, the Project Accountant I manages the accounting life cycle of highly complex projects with a high level of proficiency, accuracy and understanding of construction accounting reporting. Ability to express themselves verbally and written in a clear concise manner and be highly organized.

$78,000 - $95,000 Annually
Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.

Reporting to the Controller, the Project Accountant I manages the accounting life cycle of highly complex projects with a high level of proficiency, accuracy and understanding of construction accounting reporting. Ability to express themselves verbally and written in a clear concise manner and be highly organized.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Basic understanding of the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers & the effects of entries
- Ability to review and familiarize self with subcontractor and owner agreements regarding funding requirements
- Perform overall reporting and accounting on multiple projects according to deadlines
- Collaborate with the project team to review, approve, and submit subcontractor SOV's & subcontractor invoices in Procore
- Creates timely and accurate monthly requisition reports for review then submission to owner and lender for monthly funding
- Prepare and/or review monthly general conditions report for inclusion in monthly requisition report
- Review and approval in Procore of ERP feed for consistent and accurate allocation of budget and cost including contracts, change orders and subcontractor requisitions
- Enter owner change orders into Sage Intacct
- Prepare ACR budget reporting, providing guidance and feedback to project team for quarterly review with PX, PM, CEO & CFO
- Maintain budget vs actual monthly general conditions report for quarterly analysis with PX, PM, CEO & CFO
- Create project cash flows, updating and reallocating monthly based on schedules and trends reviewing with CFO, PX & Owners when required
- Creates and initiates EFTs to subcontractors following EFT fraud checklist approval process
- Perform reconciliations for bank, impress and job cost reports
- Assist in training and developing junior project accountants
- Record monthly project accounts receivable and cash receipts
- Reconcile and review project accounts payable monthly
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
What You Should Have
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- 2-5 years of Accounting/Finance experience
- Microsoft Office Suite and Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel (Excel Certified preferred)
- Sage Intacct and Procore a
- Must possess excellent communication and critical thinking skills, strong analytical skills.
- Must be highly organized with attention to details, results oriented and capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written
- Ability to safely navigate a construction site which includes the following: climbing ladders and stairs, use of job hoists, inclement weather conditions, hazardous/cluttered and dark areas, etc.
