South Burlington, VT Full Time
POSTED ON 9/13/2026

Executive Housekeeper

Exceptional Hospitality Starts with You

As our Executive Housekeeper, you’ll lead one of the largest and most essential teams in the hotel, with responsibility for the cleanliness, condition, presentation, and readiness of our guestrooms and public spaces.

This is a hands-on leadership role. While you’ll own the strategy, financial performance, staffing, systems, and overall success of the department; you’ll also be actively present in the operation: walking floors, inspecting guestrooms, coaching alongside your leaders, and ensuring our standards are consistently met.

As Executive Housekeeper, you’re not just responsible for clean rooms, you’re creating an environment where your team takes pride in what they do and where every guest can feel the care that went into preparing their stay.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the Housekeeping operation: Lead all aspects of the department, including guestrooms, public areas, laundry/linen operations, staffing, scheduling, systems, policies, inventory, and daily execution.
  • Be present in the operation: Maintain an active presence throughout the hotel, including personally inspecting guestrooms every day, walking floors and public spaces, identifying opportunities, and coaching team members in real time.
  • Deliver exceptional quality: Establish and uphold Hilton and hotel standards for cleanliness, presentation, sanitation, and room readiness. You’ll ensure standards aren't simply understood, they're consistently executed.
  • Lead and develop your leaders: Coach and develop Housekeeping Managers, inspectors, and team members while creating clear expectations, accountability, recognition, and opportunities for growth.
  • Build a team people want to be part of: Drive engagement and retention by listening to the team, recognizing great work, addressing concerns, and cultivating an environment built on respect, fairness, teamwork, and pride.
  • Manage labor strategically: Forecast staffing needs, build schedules around business demand, monitor productivity and labor performance, and make real-time adjustments while protecting both quality and the guest experience.
  • Own departmental financial performance: Manage budgets, control expenses, monitor supplies and linen costs, maintain appropriate inventory levels, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency without compromising standards.
  • Make change: Represent Housekeeping on the hotel's Executive Committee and contribute to hotel-wide strategy and decision-making, shaping the path of the property alongside likeminded peers.
  • Take ownership when things don't go according to plan: Respond with urgency to cleanliness concerns, staffing challenges, room-readiness issues, and operational disruptions, working alongside the team when necessary to get the job done.
  • Partner across the hotel: Work closely with Front Office, Engineering, Food & Beverage, Banquets, and other departments to ensure guestrooms and public spaces are ready for the demands of a busy full-service hotel.

What It Takes to Make the Stay

At the DoubleTree, our values define how we care for our guests, our communities, and one another.

For this Executive Committee level role, we are looking for someone who:

  • Has significant Housekeeping leadership experience, preferably within a large, full-service hotel
  • Understands that Executive Housekeeper is an active operational position, including personally inspecting guestrooms and public spaces every day
  • Fosters a genuine passion for hospitality and helping others
  • Has Integrity, sound judgment, and discretion
  • Has strong knowledge of room inspection standards, cleaning processes, chemicals, equipment, linen, and inventory management
  • Understands Housekeeping productivity, labor forecasting, scheduling, and cost-per-occupied-room
  • Can interpret occupancy forecasts and translate them into staffing and operational plans
  • Comfortable holding high standards while creating an environment where people feel respected and supported
  • Thrives in operating in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly
  • Has Hilton brand experience preferred, though strong full-service hotel experience with another major brand will be considered
  • Is able to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb stairs, and move continuously throughout the hotel while inspecting guestrooms and supporting daily operations

Schedule Requirements

Our busiest days are often the days when leadership matters most, so this position requires someone who understands that their schedule follows the needs of the operation, not simply the traditional workweek. This is a full-time leadership position requiring flexible availability, including mornings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
