Indrotec is hiring an Engineering Technician to support the development, evaluation, and validation of next-generation filtration technologies for the medical device industry.
In this role, you will work closely with engineering teams to build, test, and improve advanced filtration products and processes. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, curious, and excited to contribute to breakthrough technologies in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pre-production filter manufacturing activities, including:
- Pleating
- Seaming
- End capping
- Thermal welding
- Independently perform testing of filter assemblies and filtration media using manufacturing and laboratory equipment.
- Conduct laboratory and process testing, including:
- Airflow testing
- Water Entry Pressure (WEP)
- Bubble point testing
- Thickness measurements
- Basis weight testing
- Tensile testing
- Execute Design of Experiments (DOE) according to established engineering guidelines.
- Provide manufacturing and testing feedback to engineering teams to improve products, processes, and procedures.
- Identify equipment capability gaps and support procurement, modification, or development of equipment to meet testing requirements.
- Accurately document testing methods, results, and observations while ensuring compliance with documentation standards and quality requirements.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities while supporting cross-functional project teams.
- Work effectively both independently and in team environments.
- Develop an understanding of project objectives and technical backgrounds to contribute meaningfully to project success.
- Operate and learn a broad range of manufacturing, testing, and laboratory equipment and processes.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of laboratory environments, safety practices, and cleanliness standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and observational skills.
- Ability to work on-site in Bloomington, MN on a daily basis.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, including documentation and report formatting.
- Ability to safely move and lift materials or equipment in accordance with OSHA guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.
- Medical device industry experience through previous employment, internships, laboratory work, or academic projects.
- High mechanical aptitude and hands-on technical skills.
- Experience with test and measurement equipment.
- Previous experience working in a laboratory, pilot plant, or process development environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Benefits
- Health care insurance benefits available first of the month following 60 days of employment. Thirty (30) hours worked per week must be averaged in order to maintain coverage. 401k enrollment is available per the Secure Act guidelines.
