We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing / Process Engineer to support and improve manufacturing operations through process optimization, continuous improvement initiatives, and capital project execution. This role works closely with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to develop stable, efficient, safe, and repeatable manufacturing processes that support operational excellence and business growth.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with a strong manufacturing background and a passion for driving efficiency, improving quality, and implementing sustainable process improvements.
Process Improvement & Manufacturing Support
- Monitor daily manufacturing processes and respond to production issues to maintain operational performance.
- Analyze production metrics including scrap, rework, cycle time, and downtime to identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop, document, and maintain process flows, routings, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
- Implement process improvements that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and throughput.
- Support new product launches and process introductions through trials, setup activities, and documentation.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead and participate in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to resolve recurring issues.
- Drive waste reduction efforts, minimize scrap, improve labor efficiency, and reduce material costs.
- Track and report improvement metrics to ensure sustainable results.
- Train operators and update documentation to support long-term process improvements.
Capital Projects & Equipment Implementation
- Lead capital project initiatives from concept through equipment selection, justification, installation, commissioning, and startup.
- Prepare ROI analyses and technical specifications to support capital investment requests.
- Partner with vendors, Maintenance, and Operations teams to ensure successful equipment implementation.
- Support process validation, capability studies, and acceptance testing for new and modified equipment.
- Update standard work and process documentation following project completion.
Quality & Safety
- Support compliance with quality systems, customer requirements, and audit processes.
- Assist with non-conformance investigations and corrective action implementation.
- Integrate safety, ergonomics, and risk-reduction principles into process design and improvement activities.
- Champion a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing environment.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and operational performance metrics.
- Ability to analyze production data and implement effective process improvements.
- Experience developing and maintaining standard work procedures and process documentation.
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work in a hands-on manufacturing environment and provide off-shift support when needed.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 4–7 years of manufacturing or process engineering experience in a production environment.
- Demonstrated success improving and sustaining manufacturing processes.
- Experience with process capability analysis, cycle time studies, scrap reduction, and efficiency improvement initiatives.
- Experience supporting capital equipment installation, commissioning, and process validation activities.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing data.
- Ability to travel up to 15% as business needs require.
