What are the responsibilities and job description for the Canine Concierge position at The Dog Stop?
Customer Success & Sales — "Canine Concierge" | The Dog Stop® Scottsdale
COMPENSATION
This is a fully performance-based role with uncapped earning potential across multiple commission streams: membership enrollments, 6-month retention milestones, annual member anniversary bonuses, cross-service bookings (boarding and grooming), and wellness plan sales. Your income compounds over time — members you enroll and retain generate recurring commission that grows your earnings year over year without requiring a title change or a raise conversation.
This structure is built for someone who is confident in their ability to build relationships, close, and retain. There is no income ceiling.

THE ROLE
The Canine Concierge is not a front desk position. It is a dedicated customer success and sales role responsible for owning the entire customer journey — from the moment a prospective client contacts The Dog Stop® through their long-term membership and ongoing engagement with our full suite of services.
Think of it as a Customer Success Manager with real sales authority. You are the single point of accountability for every new customer relationship. You respond to leads, schedule evaluations, present and close membership enrollments, and then stay with that member — following up, solving problems, and ensuring they remain engaged and satisfied over months and years. The commission structure directly rewards this: the majority of your earning potential comes from retention, not just initial enrollment.
WHAT YOU OWN
Lead Response & Conversion — Every incoming inquiry (phone, text, email, web) is yours. You respond within 15 minutes during operating hours, build rapport, and schedule evaluations. No lead goes cold on your watch.
Evaluation & Enrollment — You guide prospective customers through the evaluation process, set expectations, present the right membership tier, and close the sale. Same-day close is the standard, not the exception.
Onboarding & Retention — You call every new member the evening of their dog's first day. You check in at Day 2 and Day 3. You monitor usage patterns, catch cancellation signals early, and proactively intervene to keep members engaged.
Cross-Service Revenue — You identify opportunities to introduce boarding, grooming, and wellness plans to existing members and new customers. Every interaction is a chance to deepen the relationship and the revenue it generates.
Local Brand Ambassador — You represent The Dog Stop® at community events, apartment partnership programs, and local festivals on a monthly or quarterly basis. You build relationships with apartment communities, veterinarians, and local businesses to drive awareness and generate leads.
WHO THRIVES IN THIS ROLE
This role is designed for someone with a track record of performance in commission or results-driven environments. You've worked in sales, trade shows, promotional events, or customer success — and you chose those paths because you wanted your income to reflect your effort. You also happen to love dogs.
You are equally comfortable building a relationship over the phone, closing an enrollment in person, and representing the brand at a community event. You manage your own pipeline, follow through on every commitment, and don't need a base salary to feel motivated — you need a structure that doesn't cap what you can earn.
REQUIREMENTS
• 2 years in a commission-based, performance-driven, or results-measured role (sales, business development, trade shows, promotional events, customer success)
• Demonstrated ability to ask for and close a sale in person — this is non-negotiable
• Strong verbal communication and phone presence
• Comfortable managing a pipeline using CRM and scheduling software
• Self-directed — you manage your day and your numbers without being prompted
• Ability to stand for extended periods at events and community functions
STRONG PREFERENCES
• Background in trade shows, promotional events, or brand ambassador work
• Experience in a customer success or account management role where retention was a KPI
• Genuine passion for dogs and animal care
• Previous experience in a fully performance-based compensation model
