Description
The Salon Manager is responsible for the successful operations of hair, beauty and spa services. Responsible for both profit and customer satisfaction, the salon manager leads their teams of salon staff to provide excellent services, maximize profit and follow all health and safety regulations. As salon manager, you will be in charge of hiring, training and dismissing staff members and managing the salon's day-to-day activities.
MAJOR WORK ACTIVITIES:
- Lead the salon staff team in providing excellent services and maximizing salon profit.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the salon including opening and closing procedures, staff performance and conduct, and customer intake procedures.
- Interview, hire, and train salon staff in procedure, policy and health regulations.
- Schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage for the salon's needs.
- Resolve customer complaints and provide solutions to staff disputes.
- Account for and report profits and expenses of the salon.
- Prepare and maintain sales, inventory and customer reports.
- Manage inventory salon products by maintaining records of stock quantities on hand and ordering replacement items.
- Continues learning about market standards and changes in trends.
- Operates cash register.
- Responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of the salon.
- Acts as back-up for services as needed.
- Available to work weekends and holidays as needed, sharing the Manager on Duty responsibilities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education: Secondary degree or equivalent experience in management or administration.
Licensure/ Certification: Professional license in cosmetology.
Experience: Must have proven experience in managing, planning, and operating a salon/spa. Must have extensive experience providing salon services to clients. Must have strong computer skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer applications. Experience working with a Point-of-Sale system preferred. Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English. • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and stay organized. Previous experience working with seniors is strongly preferred.
