Job Summary: The Grounds Maintenance Technician is responsible for the care and upkeep of outdoor areas, ensuring that all grounds and landscaped areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained. This role involves routine landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming, planting, watering, and fertilizing, as well as seasonal duties like snow removal and leaf cleanup. The technician also inspects grounds for potential hazards or needed repairs and operates a variety of landscaping equipment and tools. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team to maintain a visually appealing and functional outdoor environment.
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Do the right thing.
- Promote the vision, mission and values of the Board of Supervisors and County Government Organization.
- Responsible for performing routine maintenance on athletic fields, park facilities, and other County property for sports and general citizen use. This work includes mowing, trimming, laying out and marking fields for various sports, trash pickup, general cleaning of grounds, restrooms, concession stands and snow removal.
- Responsible for care and maintenance of trails, boat launches, parking lots and other County outdoor facilities
- Responsible for the care and routine maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Responsible for the operation of equipment, including but not limited to tractors, skid steer, utility vehicles, and bunker rakes.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
