JOB SUMMARY: The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for managing the processes related to hiring, orientation, ongoing employment and separation of non-elected employees of the 51st Judicial District, to include the Court of Common Pleas, Court Administration, Magisterial District Courts, Department of Probation Services, Domestic Relations Section, Department of Operational Services and the Law Library. The Human Resources Generalist serves as the liaison with the Adams County Human Resources Department under the executive branch. The Human Resources Generalist assists the District Court Administrator in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment. The Human Resources Generalist assists the District Court Administrator in developing, maintaining and educating staff on human resource policy and procedure developed by the 51st Judicial District, the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts (AOPC) and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
Hours of Work:
The individual working in the position of Human Resources Generalist traditionally follows the operating hours of the Adams County Court of Common Pleas, which is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. However, it is to be understood that the Court may set hours, change start and end times, require working through lunch periods, require overtime work, require weekend and/or evening work, or in any other way adjust schedules as needed to ensure the availability of judicial services to the public and to ensure efficient court operations.
Education, Experience and Training Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in human resources or related field degree from an accredited college or university required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- One or more years’ experience in human resources preferred.
- Knowledge of Human Resource Information Systems.
- General knowledge of Microsoft Office products required; participation in training provided by or through the employer is expected.
- Knowledge of contemporary office practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of legal environment, principles and terminology/procedures.
- Criminal background checks and clearances, including but not limited to fingerprinting, upon offer of hire.
Compensation: $20.00/hour
